I know plenty of people who don’t own one or don’t really watch it, but love a good T.V. series. One of my all time favorites is Six Feet Under, a show from a few years ago which is set in a funeral home run by the Fisher family. Every week there is a new death and the episode plays out around that. I love the themes, the characters, the stories but the thing I loved most of all was the finale.

The last episode drew all the characters together and in the last few minutes was a series of scenes which showed how the major characters died. Some died violently, some suddenly, some with their families all around them and some not so much. The one that almost makes me cry is when David Fisher dies of heart failure while sat in a chair outside. He’s very old by then, but as he dies he has a vision of his lover Keith, who died in a robbery many years previously. He sees Keith in his prime catching a football thrown to him. When he catches it, Keith turns round and smiles at David. You know then, that even though they had problems in their relationship, Keith was David’s true love; his soulmate. I’m almost crying up just writing this.

You can see the scenes on you tube but you’d need to watch all 5 seasons first to really appreciate them. I recommend that – a great watch. More recently, I also like the Good Place which again all the characters died at the end (well they were dead all along but then were properly extinguished at the end). As I say, I love T.V.

There are those who do not realize that one day we all must die.
